Uninsured Driver
I have always been aware since the first time I drive a car that Maryland requires a minimum Bodily Injury Liability limits of $20,000 per injured person up to a total of $40,000 per accident, and Property Damage Liability coverage with a minimum limit of $15,000. Added to that is the Uninsured/Under insured Motorist Bodily Injury of $20,000 per person up to $40,000 per accident. And I never leave the house if my Maryland auto insurance is not yet renewed. I don’t dare risk driving uninsured. After what happened to my parents about three years ago, they have a car accident and the other driver was uninsured.
Good thing they were not badly hurt though the car was totally wrecked. Looking at the brighter side since the driver who beat the red light was uninsured, my parents got a sum of money they used for expanding our family business. I don’t want to be in the position of the uninsured driver. Paying all the damages and being unsecured puts a heavier tow on it.
